My 1992 300D has a fault with the electric drivers window. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Its a pain when it gets stuck half way down, or up, whichever you want to look at it
:D

I have changed the electric window switch on the centre console and it isn,t that.

I wouldn't expect it to be the window motor (I presume) as it does sometimes work.

Has anyone got any ideas??

Forgot to say

Oh I forgot to say that if you give the window a good bang it sometimes does work.

Obviously an intermittent fault.

I would look at the fuse covering the windows and clean or replace them.

If that doesn't work try checking all connections that you can get at, as somewhere you have a loose connection.

My money is on the fuse.

Might be worth trying the motor from the other window in it to see if it solves the problem . Just a thought.

when the window is working is it going up and down easy or is it laboured

a common fault for window electrics is that the wiring feeding them gets damaged, try sliding back the rubber gaiter between the door pillar and door to see if there are any obvious signs of wear. When the window is stuck, try "massaging" the wires and see if that makes it work, if it does then you need to replace the faulty bit of wiring.

Pluggers

When it does work it isn't laboured. It seems OK.
