Hello.
Recently I bought Goodridge braided lines for my C43!
Seller is on UK Ebay.
Here is the link of the braids I bought:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270506060871&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK:MEWAX:IT

Now that I see there are different type of heads on endfittings I am now not sure anymore if I bought the correct braids with correct ending heads?
There are several types on Ebay.
Before I ordered the braids I supplied the seller with pictures of 210 E55AMG since both cars shares the same rotors and calipers.

Did I get the correct ending thread heads for my C43 AMG?
These are the pics I gave the seller.

Bottom picture is from Stoptech braids but they have different types of ending thread heads (round head)
(Does 1999 C43 AMG and 1999 E55 AMG have the round head)

Why don't you ring up Goodridge and check the Goodridge part number against their catalogue ?

Or else check on EPG and see if the E55 has the same Mercedes Benz part number as the C43 pipes.

Thats what I did when I wanted Goodridge pipes for my W202.

Wont the new hoses banjo end (the end closest in the above 'photo) fit where the original male end went?

Fitted Goodridge ones to a 202 before, they were exactly the same as the ones fitted. The ones you have bought do look right.

I contacted a couple of weeks ago Goodrich and Tanya from the sales office gave me the following reference for C43's: Code TME0410-4

Ive recently fitted W202 pipes and they wern't banjo type connectors, nor were the originals that came out. Not sure about the AMG caliper though.

Yep mine weren't the banjo type either. Im not sure but i think the 43 will have the banjo type connectors. Someone who's changed them will have to confirm.

Hey buddy I asked the seller from Ebay and he told me there are no braids for C43 made by Goodridge!
He only sold the ones for E55 210 version prefacelift
Since they use the same disc and rotor then I assume they are the same for C43?

Hey buddy parts number for my braids is SME0820-4
I guess there are several types of parts number for different benzes?

what is banjo?
is it the round head?
I never got this head on my braids!
The thread heads I recieved was on both top ATE pictures!

Oh and I also paid extra to get the SS endings!
But will they give any discoloration to my stock aluminum calipers?

This code- SME0820-4 - is for the 210 55 AMG hence its different from TME0410-4.

DRBC43AMG are you sure that is a valid/correct code?

If goodridge don't officially make them for your car, just mail them your existing hoses and they'll custom make lines to fit your car.

I had the rally car done last year, and the chaps down at Goodridge were kind enough to offer to sponsor our team after they found out it was for charity!

Definetly one of the better companies out there!

another thing that I noticed goodridge braids are much longer than stock factory brakelines.
why is that?

I think the fronts were about 325mm long
rears were about 300mm something, but shorter than front goodrige braids, but longer than factory stock ones!

I have to check em tomorrow, I have the box in my car with the parts number.
I am sure it was the number I described above SME0820-4

Yep you were a special case when racing for charity!
Every company would sponsor their products to needy people.
This is a good way to market them self

They didn't know I was racing for charity when they agreed to do them, they were going to charge £15 or so per line if I remember well. It wasn't until they found out it was for a charity event they offered to sponsor it - so I was truly impressed.

Most companies I've worked with (I do a lot of fundraising) need serious begging and want to see advertising plans and whatnot. Goodridge were happy with proof that it was a charitable event and stickers on the car. Very, very impressed with them :)

Yes Goodridge will make up the lines for you if ask them and if you send them the existing ones, im sure Olly got them to make up a set for him quite a while back.

hello.
I guess goodridge's got a very positive attitude, to make future customers happy.
I guess that's why they are winners!
With a positive attitude you can get far and so goes for goodridge!

I will check goodridge website now to see what they say about my brakelines

Just had a thought, why dont you take a wheel off the car and have a good look at the line and see if its the same. Will be quicker than emailing a dozen people for info which may or may not be correct.

yeah that's a good idea if I weren't so lazy nowadays!
Since I got my computer I become a chairpotato.

I just inspected the goodridge site and there is no good information for MB cars.
This is what I found out about E55:
E-Class /E55 (W210) A KCB-307-545-4 @ £58.76
It's not even the same parts number.
Goodridge doesn't inform very well.
Here is their link btw.

+1
Exactly what I was thinking.... get a wheel off and have a good look!

Well that's the n° the sales lady at Goodridge mailed me.

I checked the detali russia website and the hose end fittings show that my braids have the correct endings which I linked in the first thread with ATE pictures!

I guess I have the correct ones?
