Engine management problem

Hi there everyone I hope you can help.

Driving home in my Mercedes clk200 kompressor
Convertible(2004) the engine management came on and the car went into limp home mode. I switched the engine off and on again and it went back to normal but engine management light stayed on for 2 days.
This has happened many time but can go for upto 3 weeks before it happens again.
Had a full service, new fuel pump, and new battery and still it happens.
Has anyone had this problem?
