this is a mercedes c180 komp, 2005, the radiator fan stays on all the time although the temp shows normal, about 80. Is there a sensor switch on these cars, if so where? Any ideas anyone? Pleeeaaazzze.

Thanks.

Does the W203 series has a viscous fan rather than electric fan?

W203's have one electric fan as opposed to a viscous, once engine temp. reaches normal it stays on, same as the late W210's and W202's.

hey malcolm,
just back from work, didn't understand the 246 or 746 and what can you look for?

mr. Khan,
thanks for this, this fan cuts in the minute i start the car, even when it was -2c the other night.

Either the temperature sensor on the engine has gone duff or the fan control relay is stuck on.

my fan is on from the moment i turn the key to the moment it goes off.
Done that for years since i got it.

I have compensated for that by shedding a few pounds
