Error code -730

Hi, Hope you guys can help. I have a C-240 Sport (2.4 V6) estate and today it died on me In the dash up comes the spanner symbol and the code 730. After about 10 mins it will start again and drives absolutely fine but only for 500 yds.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is there anyone out there that can help. I'm sure one of you clever people can tell me what the 730 error code means.

I'd guess it means it's due a service in 730 miles.

What year is your car?

If it is -730 it means it is 730 DAYS overdue.

Thanks for the info, sorry for the late reply I haven't been able to get to the car and on checking of course that's what the 730 means. I was obviously to cross at the time to think straight. I have since tried the car again in a calmer state of mind. After having sat for 2 weeks it started straight away but would only run for 1 minute 26 secs. After that if I leave it for 30 mins it will start again but will not run for any longer.

I removed the air filter and also tried disconnecting the Airflow regulator but no difference so all I can think is it's fuel starvation.

Any opinions would be very gratefully received.
