Yeah the relay was the first thing I changed and also cleaned the thingy LOL at the back of supercharger also but still not cured .
Im more bothered about SBC getting sorted , Im glad to here that you had yours replaced by MB FOC :thumb:

its most probably the secondry air injection system that serves absolutely no purpose, so nothing to worry about just a stupid error but an error all the same.

you could replace with a 2nd hand unit , seen a few on ebay

Hi Alps ,
Do you still have the error code on and do you just live with it ....or did you get it fixed and if so wat did you fix ??
Still got the problem and also needing a SBC unit as Merc wont replace FOC

Hi Mark, nope they changed the relay and all sorted.

why did they say they wouldnt replace the SBC unit, i cant say i have heard it ever being refused

Probably worth finding a dealer who will replace FOC.

MB Bromley told me the SBC had a 'lifetime warranty' on it.

Rumours have been flying around for the last couple weeks that MB no longer covers SBC FOC, there are still cases where the dealer has secured a contribution from MB but only it seems if the customer has full MB service history and is a good client of the dealer. Even then most have posted just 50% contribution, Indie's had better get used to replacing these now as the costs are likely to continue to increase.

[Unbelievable]Of course. What I call a lifetime and what MB call a lifetime were always going to differ weren't they.[/Unbelievable]

Anyone know or hazard a guess at how much would one cost to replace and / or how much would it cost to remove the system completely if that was possible?

full dealer price £1700-1900 so about £800-900 if MB contribute 50%

It is all to do with MB UK if the car was bought in the UK service history or not they will replace ........mine on the other hand was bought in Europe for the UK so they wont replace and believe me I have tried also sorts I have even written to the car press to see if they would take up the story . ( Still Waiting LOL )

If you'd bought one and it had a full service history, the amount you'd spent extra would buy a pump 5 times over probably.

What my inde wanted for our FD's (CLK280) service and tyres and some other bits - MB just wanted for the service.

A number of posts have been made on the other forum on SBC claims being rejected over the last few weeks, as I said only rumours at this stage.
