Whilst driving my cls earlier today esp inoperative came up on my display & the esp triangle stayed illuminated even when pressing the esp button,on reading the owners manual it says there is a malfunction so esp/bas & pre-safe have been de-activated,this happened about 10 months ago & after re-starting the car the fault didn't re-appear &
after posing the question on here then it seemed like the battery had low voltage which caused the fau;lt to appear, however, this time after a re-start the fault message is still present,as i have full mb history i could call mb assist out & have the hook the car up on star to see what comes up but thought i'd ask again on here in case anyone has had a simular problem & has an answer, any help much appreciated.

As a footnote i have discovered whilst searching the forum that the memory function is a known source of battery drain,as i have memory package on my cls & move the front seats back/forwards when cleaning/hoovering the carpets(without the key in the ignition)i was wondering whether this could be the root of the problem &
if so should i not move the seats electrically without the key in the ignition in future?

Back in the day I'd suggest the brake switch had packed/was packing up. Might still be the case?

Cheers Shude-the fault hasn't re-appeared after restart at the moment,if it does i'll call mb(mobilo) & get the car on star.

Before doing anything you need it plugged in. This will tell you the cause.

Cheers olly, will call mobilo out & get it plugged into star.
