Yes indeed. No doubt there is an unfortunate tale there. Gutted!

The unfortunate tale is the customers who will be losing serious amounts of money.
Businesses don't just go pop it's over a long period of time and deceit always comes into play.

Agreed, no advance warning or contact with customers.... very poor.

if you paid by credit card, your credit card company should reimburse you -- s75 of the Consumer Credit Act, probably replaced by a later Act

As nice as the guys at eurocharged appear to have been, it wont be hard to obtain their home address , if I had been done over by them like this I would be paying them a late night visit with a few mates demanding reimbursement

I think the sad fact is that The owner became ill however you have to have contingencies.

I don't think that people should be out of pocket with no warning or comms as ultimately there were others who worked there as well as the owners of the franchise in the US.

There is more to this story and I hope one day I see my old parts, albeit of not much value, but they are mine

i am going to try the nice route if poss out of respect for Pauls health issues but my patience is being sorely tested as have been unable to make any contact for several weeks now and there a people who have been welland truly stuffed.the fact i am missing the x pipe from my exhaust is inexusable as there was no reason for this tobe removed and its obv on someone elses car now

Just to put things in to perspective my dad was diagnosed with a chest infection in October 2012 and passed away with cancer in November 2012 not all illness's are what they seem and possibly an illness can be mistaken for something else and i do hope Paul is and will be ok. But i do agree your x-pipe is really important!

Tony.

I can relate - my old man had a brain tumour and died in 18 months recently so know what it's like !

However, he had a business also and people who relied on him -customers , staff etc.

You put in contingencies if time permits which I understand there was....

This saga, was building from way back, some time before one partner was diagnosed as unwell, you could just see to how the clients cars were being hung onto and treated, there were parts being removed from one car, to fit to another, the state of the cars parked up outside for months, in one case well over a year. Theres been a huge lack of morals exercised from both partners, pockets were lined. As I understand it, I believe EC US is also out of pocket, along with the few here who already have spoken out, wait till you get to hear of a couple of other stories that took place, absolutely outrageous. I cannot condone taking the law into your own hands as per one poster, albeit I can understand such actions, I am a great believer in life to what goes around will come around, no commiserations to whose who have lost monies here, considerably sums in a couple of places. No missing, paid for parts are going to re appear sadly, its all lost, all I know is, the likely hood of the two people in question resurrecting themselves into this forum, is highly unlikely, an untasteful three year old story of EC Watford.:(

What are the other stories then, until they closed I hadn't heard anything negative whatsoever?

I hope that isnt sarcasm about the x pipe
as that is just the tip of the iceberg, there are 2 directors to Eurocharged and the other one cannot possibly be ignorant of what has been happening and while 5k may not seem much to you its a lot of money to me
i have to work long and hard for my money

I have to agree with some this . There customer service has been shocking from day one . Lots of horror story's and I don't think they really knew what they was doing my friends cl600 had a piston eat it's self after a poor remap .
As person Paul is a nice guy but not someone i would choose to do business with .

I've kept quiet but mine was the original project car they took on.
I can tell you all the yarns I was spun over the years (yes years) about my car being completed and what parts we were waiting on and what went missing etc

But this will get me no where. I'm more saddened to see so many people fall victim to this.
