Euromerc webstore

Hmm. Dirty, even behind the seals, terminals heavily oxidised, spring clips showing signs of corrosion, scratches albeit minor. I have no issues with buying new old stock but the condition led me to doubt whether this is. The box was open with no part number on it.

The thing is Nick it is only now that you have responded to my questioning it being used and I said I was prepared to return it but first wanted to know if you would cover my postage costs. I subsequently offered another option which was a reasonable (no figure mentioned) discount to reflect the condition. You just ignored my questions.

And the 'many email conversations' you refer to amount to no more than 6 lines, none of them answering my two simple concerns i.e. it definitely appearing used and whether or not you would cover my return postage.

Other websites might have restocking fees but that is irrelevant if the part is not as described.

This could easily have been avoided.

Dave , just to clarify , i mentioned in our *original* PM exchange that i might be able to get it to Haslemere for you.

I then heard nothing for ages , and i believe you told me that you didn't want it because your insurance company wouldnt let you ?

Then i heard nothing for ages until i get a phone call from Nick telling me that you have been on the phone to him about collecting an exhaust and do i know anything about it ?

Then i get a PM from you saying you want it , and you need it quicktime in Haselmere to collect , so Nick drives to mine specially to collect it to do me a favour , and arranges the rest at his end.

Doing favours for people always comes back to bite you doesn't it , i wish i'd just weighed it in now.

No, the arrangement for the purchase of exhaust was: collection from Euromerc. How it's got there was between you and your friend, whom I bought the exhaust from. Why you felt a need to charge me for a favour you did for your mate is another question.

It was nothing to do with me, but I still did it for you, for nothing.

Oh yes they did, not international though, just plain HSBC.
And, of course I do not have any outstanding orders NOW, as their status changed from "Process" to "Cancelled" about an hour after I posted the message here. Got an email from WorldPay to advise me of a refund too, fancy that... must be coincidence, and nothing to do with my posting here :thumb:

But did not your team of bankers do all that?

Opps.

What about the poor chap who had to be up at 7am for you. Nick is a sole trader, he doesn't have the resources like that of putting folk on early shifts etc.

You bought an exhaust from one member, collected it at IMHO stupid o'clock from another who had to pick it up for you, had it fitted by another forum chap (Ollie). Why is this not an MBC success story?

In Nicks defence, I've found his service to be impeccable for what is pretty much a one man band.

He picked up a set of wheels for me from another forum member (in London) and dropped them at mine (Doncaster) and didn't charge me a penny.

That is what forums are about, helping out each other and not throwing a favour back in people's faces.

What's the date today - this is hardly the day for something nice to say!

I think from reading BOTH posts that even I, as negative as I can be, can see no bad in what Nick's done. Someone needed to pick something up early, because of Nick (who's part it was not), they got it in time. Why on earth is this happening when what should be happening is a thread like "Thanks Nick for arranging the uplift of my exhuast from Howard as it meant I could get it fitted ASAP at Ollies".

I have plenty of good news, its non car related.

Been on holiday again, Venice. Fabulous, but I will do an OT thread again. :thumb:

To draw a line under my issue. Ideally you could have contacted me when packing the item (it had been repacked in the Merc box) to say that on packing it you'd noticed that (if in fact it is not used) although not used it looks used and do I still want it or alternatively explained and apologised when I emailed you to say that it appears used then agreed a fair solution.

Instead you didn't answer my concerns and then just ignored my two emails. That was when I decided I didn't have the time to pursue this but felt it right to provide feedback on here.

Due to the hassle of returning, getting another one, probably losing out on postage costs and credit card fees and wanting to get the job done (I'm replacing a headlamp lens and it makes sense to do both jobs at once), I will keep this one.

I think Nick is perhaps occasionally problemed by customers with over reaching expectations. Rightly or wrongly Nick falls down by not satisfying their every whim.

The difficult bit for every business is where to draw the line. The like of Amazon can afford to put more into this than a guy on his own. Nick's problem is that the search result show this site for moans.

What were the roads like? ;)

And bumpy, and the flights were sh*t. The way out had male "stewards". I need proper fit women for eye candy, only thing I like about flying is the totty on the plane.

Way back had totty alright, but it was bumpy and that disturbed breakfast.

But it was otherwise perfect in every single way.

Seems like this forum hasn't changed.

I go on holiday and tell folk about it, and the lynch mob bash Nick. :ban:

All I expected was a new part to look new. I wouldn't call that over-reaching but hopefully you weren't referring to my issue.

Bulgaria is good - surprisingly so. Sat on balcony awaiting return late tonight with MB for reading and live music from the casino below....

Dan - I don't think anyone is saying your issue is anything other than reasonable. Mistakes and miscommunications happen but sometimes it is best to move on.... can't wait to see your car btw...

The car's in having the soft-top windows replaced next week along with some suspension bits, geo and transmission fluid chanage. I've done a few minor jobs (mirror motor and aerial replacement) but haven't managed to give it anything other than a quick clean yet due to the awful weather. Hopefully I will manage to change the headlamp lens and indicator tomorrow and perhaps clean and condition the leather. I've still not worked out the logistics of getting the wheels refurbished and want to give the exterior a proper polish and wax. Then it'll be time to get on and enjoy it.
