Hi,
This may well have been asked before but I couldn't find it.

I have a work colleague who recently immigrated to the UK from Denmark, they have 10 years no claims on their insurance in Denmark - would any UK insurers respect this?

If just a select few, names would be nice here please?

Thanks in advance :)

Try Dave at msm insurance (co.uk) they are a very small broker but are very good :) He's managed to get no claims for a customer who'd been a named driver on his dad's car before buying his and had a credit for his motorbike no claims too :)

Thanks, but are any of these specific to someone having NCD in another country and using it here in the UK?

I was giving a stab at the quote at AXA yesterday, it did relate European entitlement and bans.

Thought you already knew, we are united states of Europe whether you like it or not, but...............

our cover in UK does not cover Europe. Only for two weeks, it time for a change eventually but then the premium will go up.

Insurance

Hi I came back to the UK kin 2004 after 25 years in Holland, I too had a bit of a NCB, in Holland I had a 75% NCB with 25 years of clean driving. When I got back I felt that I was a pariha, the insurance comps didn't want to know, untill I pointed out to them that as a Member of the EU THEY HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO ACCEPT MY NCB just as the DVLA had no choice but to accept a member states driving license as being valid. However, because all the companies here are lets say illiterate when it comes to speaking any other language other than that of the EMPIRE the demanded that my insurance company in Holand give em a decleration that I had indeed have the NCB I claimed, only stipulation was it had to be in ENGLISH. So the simple answer is YES his NCB is valid in the UK.:D As for cover in Europe, my understanding is that every British insurance (Fully Comp) will give an Automatic 90 days in any one year without penalty. But to put matters right you should have a green card when abroad, all continental insurers give you a green card auto like, but the same stipulation applies to the UK but not to other member states, Tit for Tat ****.
