Even I wouldn't take this AMG on as a project...

How much to sort the suspension and re trim it?

Rest looks ok for age?

Instead of the air suspension (if it has it) can it be converted to normal?

Assuming it was 'good' condition what's it worth £7K?

Fancy it do you SPX?

After what the C32 has cost me to get tip-top, not a prayer.

It's the bits that you can't see that cost; I bet I've spent over £500 just on 'bits' that I didn't plan for, not to mention the bits I did plan for costing more than I anticipated. My final bill is in the region of just over £3k...

And my C32 hasn't got air suspension like an E55K!

that seat shows more miles than 137k surely, the dealer in question is an interesting place to visit, went to look at a V8 disco there about a year ago, something did not feel right but could not put my finger on it.

They recently sold a X plate E280 petrol estate with all the extras for £990 and it appeared 7 days later with a full mot at a dealer in Aylesbury for £1,440 so I guess part trade and part retail.

Probably what would take you up to the market value which is probably around £7k as you state.

At least you know it has new suspension though - subject to what is replaced.

Does look alright apart from that.

This Ebay seller has sold under several different accounts over the years. Most of the pictures of their vehicles are taken at auction sites. Reading all the bad feedback they used to get was quite amusing. They seem to have cleaned up their act a bit. They seem to be the disposal agent for all the 'dogs' that the trade doesn't want. Their 'terms and conditions' are quite unlike regular Ebay sellers. The vehicles are not even valeted before sale.

They currently have over 90 cars listed. 2001 CL55 ending in 20 mins, currently £3300.....

They buy interesting cars that are expensive to run and thus always go through auctions cheap and then re-sell them, hopefully for a profit. Given the amount of cars they have for sale, something's working.

Stuff like this always goes through cheap - dealers can't be ar$ed as it's too much hassle to fix (and the potential of a big bill), and privateers want something that is ready to go out of the blocks.

Correct that the car might be a money pit, but it might also be a £300 pump and a £300 interior refurb to see it straight.

The C32 I bought wasn't in as bad a condition as that E55K and I've gone over my budget by about 50%...

If it was simply the suspension problem, I could have a daft punt, but that interior just screams out to me that it's been abused.

These guys buy at Blackbushe and Enfield, pay their fees/transport, give them a wash then put them on ebay. What you get is a car they they attempt to appraise and the opportunity to walk away without the expensive private buyer BCA costs. Many times i've seen them buy cars at auction only to sell for less on ebay. Most of the time however there is some profit in them.

You pay your money... you take your choice.

its probably a cc trade car, aka wbac as most of them are really rough, the good stuff they retail.

'**WARNING** -....also be aware we now have a policy of declaring all mileages as incorrect, as per our terms above, and all cars sold by us including this one, as being sold for the purpose of spares or repair, not fit for use on the public highway. This may sound hard, but it is the only way we can legally sell these cars without reserve, and not go out of business, and also not fall foul of trading standards law. This means the price we get will be lower, but you must appreciate, you are not buying from a retail environment, so if you want warranties, fully valeted cars, proper aftersales service, we hate to break it you folks, but we suggest you buy elsewhere, as such services come with a price....'

That's more than fair, I think?

Bingo!

I have been watching this seller for months. Time and time again the cars go through with no reserve and 'sell' only to be relisted again shortly afterwards. Some times several times over many weeks.
Really strange, very odd.

Hate those ebay-cheaters where you just know that something isn't quite alright with them. One should really inform ebay about those practices me thinks...
