F1 2019

He would say that, wouldn't he? And he could be right of course.

It's all a bit moot given they drive different cars. Verstappen has pace and this season has showed greater maturity and has made few mistakes. He is also hungry for the results he feels he deserves. For sure he has huge talent and the potential to be an F1 world champion

Lewis has pace, makes few mistakes and has multiple world championships behind him and maybe another one soon. Sooner or later his run will come to an end and it maybe Max that takes over or maybe Lando...

Lewis is complaining the British F1 GP is competing for viewers with the Cricket World Cup final which England are involved in, and is on live free to air (C4), and the mens singles final at Wimbledon.

He has a point, but the 2019 calendar was arranged way back in 2018. I doubt any thought was given to Wimbledon or the cricket at the time.

Maybe Lewis should just get on with doing his highly paid job and try to win the bloody thing.

You don’t hear Federer, Nadal etc. moaning about the F1 being on at the same time as the tennis

If you really want to watch it you can record it, frankly I'd rather watch paint dry than cricket

LH seems to thrive on what other people consider to be distractions, like flying off to a Fashion Week in the run up to a GP a few weeks ago.

But we will see on Sunday.......

Hopefully his first thought will be to apologise to MV for costing him a podium - now there's a massive bit of wishful thinking for you!!:D:D

Cheeky monkey LH to take fastest lap on his final lap and on a well worn set of hard compound when VB is out on used softs!

Which just shows the pace advantage Lewis had in the race.....I don't think the final result was ever in much doubt, he would have found a way around his team mate whatever the race had thrown at him.

Probably not his first thought but SV did apologise straight after the race whilst MV was still in the car....

Great shame that Seb messed up, spoilt what was a good battle, great dicing through the field as well, an enjoyable F1 not the usual boring procession.

The way I saw it was Vettel committed down the inside only for Max to make an illegal 2nd move. Vettel then locked under braking and rammed him. It wasn't deliberate or even that much of a mistake so not totally Vettel's fault. Either 2nd moves are illegal or they are not, otherwise the driver behind will never know when to commit.

There was never a gap down the inside for SV. He tried to dodge right but misjudged his closing speed. He admitted to his mistake ...

That's obviously not the stewards' opinion, as they penalised SV not MV - and if they considered that MV made a second move or move in the braking area they would have penalised him. SV at fault was also the immediate view of the C4 commentators, including 2 experienced and well respected former F1 drivers.

First thing they tell you when you go karting is "don't run into the car in front!" Totally Seb's fault and he has said as much.
Lucky break for Lewis on the safety car, gave him a great opportunity which he took. Fantastic battle with Valteri up to then. Great drive from LeClerc, again. Some great driving again from Max just a tiny mistake just after coming out of the pits.

Overall a great win for England. How close was that? Federa gave it a great shot...

What a day for sport. ;)
