F1 driver hurt in testing at Duxford...

Plenty of that goes on around these parts. The options are: agree, disagree, ignore, report.

But the personal insults between members cause threads to be prematurely closed.
But hey, I'm not a moderator - but I can easily report you to one.

Please don't take this the wrong way but were you a prefect at school.

Not a track to test an F1 car on IMHO and why was the truck parked where she could hit it? That is a big No No in racing. Lots of questions to be answered on this one, but hope she makes a speedy recovery.

I've been to a few of these sessions (often they are used for publicity / hospitality as well as straight-line testing) and Duxford is used quite a lot. Don't all test arenas, including straight-line, have to be FIA approved?

The trucks and tents / temporary garages are quite a distance from where the high-speed runs are performed. It appears that she was returning to the garage area and - according to spectators there - had swung the car round ready to be pushed back into the garage when it accelerated away.

What a pity her racing days are over.

You never know with this sort of thing, is it lucky to have survived or unlucky to have had an accident? I am minded to go with lucky as there is no mileage in 'what ifs'. That said then, if the loss of an eye is the worst of it, she has done better than I feared after running into the trailing edge of a tail lift. Nasty.

Just thinking about it is nauseating.
Anyway, I hope she has no more bad news.

Lucky to be alive I think. Let's look forward to a great British gp this weekend though
