Seems like an age since I've been out in the E55, still not fitted those bits of trim, just been real busy.

Should have been taking Imp out to a show on Sunday but she was playing up a bit so took the E55 instead.

That's a properly classy bit of kit:cool:

I use 3-in-one White Lithium Grease.
Spray some into a cap and leave for a few hours and it dries a bit then can be brushed on nicely.
Probably do it once or twice a year at most.
Have you used this grease on the door hinges? Or you used another?

1 or 2 hinges on the car make noise.

Finally got round to getting the trim parts in the boot area replaced, I've only had them since last year.

Old ones were just a little bit sorry looking.

Amazing how much crud there is under these that has gathered up over the years.

Got the area all cleaned up along with the rubbers and treated the rubber too.

New parts in and looking a lot better, I'm going to get new rivets as there is a bulletin to change these to the newer version.

The plastic trim was also split so got a new one of these too and fitted this also, looks as good as new now.

Looking good.

Just to get the new rivets now and it will be finished.

Wow, can't believe how long it's been since I posted here.

Taxed the E55 again today, took it for some fuel and parked at the new factory as I'm getting some hardcore delivered at the house and laid at the side for my new garage base.

May take it along to our local show on Sunday 14th instead of the Imp.

What's the show? I will be near there on that date, may come over.

Bit of a bummer, looks like I need to investigate this fault.

Rough idle, revs. bouncing up & down at idle and seems to be over fueling.

First thing I'll do is check throttle pedal operation then move onto throttle body.

This is such a clean car! The W211 E55AMG is one of my fav Mercedes. I'd love to own one this one day and I would try and get the car to look half as clean as yours
I hope the issue you're having is nothing serious

:)

Quick check today and the throttle pedal values are good, pointing to the body or the wiring next to check.

Looks like it may be the Throttle Valve itself that is faulty, A1130980150. Ouch

Throttle body less harness available from Bosch

Thanks Gav, good spot.
Is that cross reference to #134 A1371410125 / A1131410625 / A1131410125 ?

Looks like it's #38 that is faulty though, Throttle Valve A1130980150

Keeping an eye on this, as my car too has this fluctating revs at idle but only when in gear. I don't have any codes so not sure if it is this secondary throttle body or not. Tempted to get the bypass plate from vrp as this TB is very pricey.

If the Throttle Valve is faulty though it will be a positioning error for feedback that will throw the ECU.
Think from memory this is open as normal and as the Throttle Body opens this one closes.
