Fav car to date

Triumph Stag, LTV 606P

All original and beautiful. I loved that car.

Oh and my Corrado. J473 TOB. That was SO good. Drove it to Saxa Vord on Unst (plus the ferries). I loved that car.

And my W210. P4 CPU. Drove that to the south of France, then over the Pyrenees on back roads to a place called Isaba. I loved that car.

And my G Wagen. G400 LUE. I just REALLY loved that car.

And my bike. Dragstar Classic 1100. PN52NLA.
Could have had a Harley. Always wanted a Harley. Decided on the Yammy. Had it longer than any of my cars except the Stag. Still have it and no plans to change it. Just totally right for me. I really really love that bike.

1991 Honda CRX VTEC ( UK car ) H164 DBM before my plate went on.

150 bhp from a 1.6l NA engine  , redlined at 8k rpm. This was in the days of the mk2 Gti and the pug 205 Gti ...... Most of them never knew what happened. Just as they went to change gear , the CRX had another 2k left !

The noise when the VTEC came in at 5.6k was just fantastic, a real touring car whine. I used to drive everywhere in third just so I cold hear it lol.

Blade silver with black leather seats with red stitching and embroidery

How I miss that car.

That's a bit like asking which of my children I love most!!

I've loved all the cars I've ever owned. If i had to pick one the it would be...

...My 1996 Toyota MR2 2.0 GT in Goodwood Green which was probably the most exciting, exotic, dare I say it cool, and certainly most popular with the laydeez.

Renault 5 GT Turbo Raider, stage 3 by Turbo Technics, 228 BHP at the wheels. 125,000 very happy miles.

What a monster??!! I was at least expecting a 1.7 bottom end.

Mk5 golf r32......BEST CAR IN THE WORLD !!!
Any arguments and you re getting a pasting

For nostalga, Triumph GT6 mark 3 (bought it at 3 years old, owned it for 7 years). Objectively, my current car, CLK230 W208 is the best car to date.

Best one for me (excluding current steed which wins easily) would be my 1997 M3 Evolution in Estoril Blue.

I loved that car and running it as a 'company car' at the time, the total cost was £7k for 25,000 miles in 18 months back at the beginning of the last decade.

:bannana:

After that, 2001 BMW Alpina B10 V8, then Opel Manta 2.0 GTE (first car) was great against your peers with Capris, Novas etc. Once the Astra 8v and 5GTTs appeared, I moved up to a Astra GTE 16V to stay on top (in performance, not necessarily handling!). The 16V would be the next best car.

Does a love/hate relationship count?

Yep, with servicing bills (and the cost in time and money of the trips to Turbo Technics in Aldershot, who built the cars for the TV races) to match. What price happiness though, when you're not yet 25?

Hmm ... gotta be my 1974 Fiat 126 ... 600 cc of throbbing power :D

Actually did have a lot of fun in it, took it to the British GP at Silverstone in 1983 (camped there for the weekend).

Granada 3.0 Ghia before that - that was a great car

Granada1.jpg

And before that a Dolomite which was pretty good ... just a standard 1850 though rather than the Sprint. Always wanted a GT6 in Mimosa yellow ... never got one :(

Mine would have to be the third car I ever owned which was a 328i sport in Boston green with grey leather. It was just beautiful in every way, until some git stole it!
Sorry it was a BMW guys but it was my first love !!!!!!

My favourite car of Mrs D's is also a difficult call. I loved her 1999 Vauxhall Omega 2.5 CD because it made me feel like I was the lead car chasing a Transit through Halifax on Police, Camera, Action! I loved her 1992 Mazda MX5 1.6 despite the fact she never once let me drive it and only let me sit in the passenger seat twice. :madness:

But I think it's probably her ML63 which just tips it.

PS Our ML270 and C32 are both excluded we've had them almost as long as we've had children and so I refuse to pick :D

Mine has to be my Porsche 944 Turbo. It was modded and tuned to within a whisker of it's life. So bloody fast it was scary. The thing would pop bang and spit flames from the exhaust on the over run. It would break traction and go sideways when floored at motorway speeds in fith gear. So much fun:D

I never came across another car that could cope with it. Scoobies, Lancers, TVR's, even the odd Bentley and Ferrari got shown the weeds :D

I really do miss that car.

Sold my 944 S2 Cabriolet a few months ago. The only car I've ever sold and had a tear in my eye as I watched and listened as it was driven off down the road.

Most of my cars have been favourites at the time I bought them, so of course it's my C350 right now. My Mk7 Jag was a beast for an 18 year old, my bright red Austin 1100 got many admiring glances at the time, and my white Audi Coupe Quattro went like you know what. But I suppose my '99 CLK 230K must have been my all time favourite because I kept it far longer than anything else I've ever owned.

No question (and not an MB I'm afraid, but I think I'll be forgiven).

Renault 5 GT Turbo Raider, stage 3 by Turbo Technics, 228 BHP at the wheels. 125,000 very happy miles, including twice-weekly trips the length of the legendary A686, with many a memorable tussle on the way. Despite being 6ft3in tall, also one of the most comfortable cars I've had. I bought it in my early 20s, and it's a wonder I'm still alive, frankly.

The standard car is one of Hammond's icons: Hammond's icons: Renault 5 GT Turbo - BBC Top Gear and mine looked very similar (at least outside) except for the Devil exhaust, drilled, slotted, Tarox all round, and lowered suspension. Under the bonnet, things were very different to the standard, largely to satisfy the huge cooling requirements generated by asking a 1397 cc engine to produce that much grunt!

Sadly, I have no photos to hand... Happy days. Now, if I found a really nice one for sale...
Back in the mid-late 90's i had a Renault 5 GT Turbo more of a drag car hobby, to achieve 228 WHEEL POWER, you would need a lot more than a T25 turbocharger, alloy intercooler and rebored carb with bigger jets.

Were talking low compression, wire wrung steel liners, serious top end gas flowing, cams, VNT turbo, T28 so you don't run out of puff.

Water injection running methanol to keep charge inlet temps down, a much bigger exhaust elbow bore and system, Charge cooler plus intercooler and you'd need to be running 30+PSI boost pressure! Suspension upgrades, better brakes help too.

This little lot wouldn't come cheap as i found out. I had nowhere near 228WHP.

Although the car did consistent mid 12's on A048 road Legal slicks and had more like 190WHP.

My favourite car, well most fun and laughs and a bit of a hooligan was my E46 M3.
