I originally posted this in wrong section so i reposted here

Hi all i have changed my rear disks inc shoes and pads today.
The foot brake was poor and to be fair still is..

Apart from the adjusters in the hubs is there any other adjustments to tighten foot brake

I find i have to press foot pedal right to its end of travel before its holding car on a incline

Today the hubs were not spinning freely and the adjusters were full off...!

Any help or info please cheers

There's only those adjusters through the rear discs. Did you tighten them up again after applying the foot brake and releasing a few times?

I 'bedded in' mine when I replaced them by getting up to 20/30 mph and applying the foot brake a few times. On an empty road obviously. If you don't do that, they'll never bed in as they never rotate in the disk's drum as you only ever normally apply the foot brake once in park.

Is it a manual? As park will hold the car on a hill safely, the foot brake is just backup.

There surely must be a cable adjustment somewhere as well. However I think you may have to separate the hub not spinning freely issue from the shoe adjustment as the adjusters being fully off is only going to add more slack in the cable. The shoe clearance adjustment should be done first and backed of only a couple of clicks normally until the "hub spins freely" and only then adjust the cable if needed.

The hub spins freely issue is subjective as there is always quite a bit of drag from the differential and also possibly from the disc pads.

Yes i would have assumed the same another location to adjust the brake cable somewhere..

Its not under the back seat like on most other / previous models

Maybe another adjustments on tge hub adjuster as i have not readjusted in all honesty

WIS shows adjustment only at the rear drums for the W204

Adjust the thumb wheel until the shoes make contact with the drum, then slacken off adjuster by 8 teeth
