Forged wheels

Patience !

I think it's fair to say that I have been more than patient with all this!

I tried to call James earlier at about 10.30am and was told he was in a meeting and that he'd call me back in about an hour.

I emailed him to ask him to confirm the information about the warranty.

No reply and no call back after 2 hours.

I just tried to call him again.

James answered.
Before I could say anything, he said that he tried to answer the phone while dealing with a customer, he was sorry, and said he'd have to call me back in half an hour.

You think I should be more patient? :dk:

Getting rather hacked off with this.

If I don't make any progress with this today, I'm calling it a day.

Rash, I know these wheels are very important to you, but you have the patience of a saint. I would have given up ages ago. Despite what they are saying, Projex do not appear to be interested in your dilemma.

That was a sarcastic "patience" hence the exclamation mark. They know your requirements but choose to keep you waiting even longer. Stick with emails and say something along the lines of "no response will be taken as acceptance if your terms"

Ok, I 've just spoken to James.

He has confirmed that the wheels are unharmed from the courier collection.

They actually arrived at Projex secured to the pallet by shrink wrap so I'm guessing that the courier removed the strap at the depo and applied shrink wrap before delivering to Projex.

He has confirmed that the new wheel is being shipped tomorrow and anticipates receiving it Monday or Tuesday.

I did ask what will happen to the Frankenstein wheel.
He said that BC want it back and will be collecting it in due course.

Regarding the warranty on all 4 wheels.
James has said that BC have agreed to extend the warranty on all 4 wheels for another 6 months.

While this is better than nothing, it's not entirely helpful considering the wheels will be on the car for the next 4 or 5 months and then taken off and stored until next spring, at which point I may or may not find a repeat of events.

I did stress this to James.
James says he completely understands this but said that we will have to cross that bridge when the time comes.

Both James and I are inclined and hoping that this issue was an isolated incident.

James also said that we have got to be at least a little thankful that BC have agreed to supply a new wheel and extend the warranty.
I am inclined to agree with this.

I guess what has tainted the situation is that a problem occurred with a wheel that was:
a) very expensive
b) never driven in rain
c) never driven in winter
d) waxed 4 times before it went on the car
e) cleaned after use each time, without fail
f) removed from the car and cleaned before storage
g) stored in a warm, spare bedroom under a bloody duvet, no less!

This has knocked my confidence in the wheels, which is why I am voicing concerns over the others and pushing for some reassurance for all wheels.

There is every chance it was an isolated incident.
But all I am asking is some understanding from Projex & BC about how these wheels are looked after and how little they have and will be used.

All I can do now, is get them back, put them on the car and use them.
If any issues arise, they are more likely to show their face when the wheels are in use.

I've asked James to balance all the wheels, although the original 3 wheels should be fine.

I'll cast my keen, OCD, eyes over the wheels when they arrive and go from there.

Called Projex to find out if they had received the new wheel as I'm keen to get the wheels back so that I might actually enjoy them at some point this year.

Was greeted by a rather unhelpful Stewart who told me that only James is dealing with this, I need to speak to James, no one else knows anything about the situation and that James doesn't work Mondays.

Honestly, I've never known anything like it.

I would have thought that they would have made this case a hot topic, made everyone aware of the situation and made it a priority.

Sounds to me that no one wants to get involved with actually sorting this out in a timely manner and it's being left with James.
Which is fine, but when James is not there, me, the customer, is inconvenienced even more!

So, still no news.
Got a feeling it'll be the end of the week when I see these wheels, if not next week.

I will still need to inspect them when they arrive so I'm not assuming anything at the moment..

Projex are saying that they have not received the new wheel.

They are also saying that they have not heard from BC.

So I am still none the wiser as to what the hell is going on.

James at Projex told me that the wheel has been made and, last week, told me that he expects to arrive at work on Monday (yesterday) to have details of the wheel having arrived in the UK.

Strange because I was told by Stewart yesterday that James doesn't work Mondays.

No wheel and no news.

Getting completely hacked off with this.

Ive never known anyone to have as much patience as you mate. It all seems to close to being sorted, but yet so far!!

Hey bud,

Yes, I hear you.

I asked James at Projex for the contact details of the guy at BC that he deals with.

I have written a lengthy email to him in the hope it will kick them into gear.

Can't say I'm hopeful but we'll see.

This is just getting ridiculous now.

James told me that the wheel was due to be shipped out last Friday.
It's now pretty much Wednesday and no one is any the wiser.
It's infuriating and I'm completely fed up with it.
To be honest, I'm losing interest.. Fast!

If I don't hear anything back from this guy at BC and still don't have my wheels or any news by Friday, I'm aborting and demanding a refund.

I've extended Projex and BC more than enough patience with all this.
It's been a year since I bought these wheels and I've used them literally about 10 times.

It's ridiculous.
I've spent more time waiting for these wheels (7-8 weeks to receive them, due to the original order being messed up and around 3 months now for them to get sorted) than I have using the bloody things!

This has been the most stressful, drawn-out, inconvenient purchase I have ever made for my car.

Mate I am sorry to read this, been away from the forum for a while and can't believe what I am reading.

Well, I have some poor news on one of my wheels too but I'll put it in another thread as I need some advice for the guys on here.

Hey Henry,

Yes, I have been having a complete nightmare with this.
I am still waiting for the new wheel.
Personally, I think BC have not prioritised this at all and that they will be producing the new wheel in there normal turn-around time.
Pretty bad service really.

Anyway, I am biting my tongue at the moment and continue to wait..

Sounds like you are
I'll look out for your thread...

We must catch up soon.
It's been too long!

Absolutley mate, the nicer weather (Just about) is here and we should definately get together soon and see if any of the boys are up for a meet.

Just let me know as and when.

Really feel for you mate, and I cant believe this is still going on, BUT as most the guys on here have said, you have been more than patient enough up until now, so stick with it my friend and dont let down your guard, keep onto them. :thumb:

I wrote a lengthy email to the factory at BC on Tuesday evening expressing my concerns.

In the early hours of this morning, I received a reply from them.

It was not exactly a detailed reply and was hoping for more of a response.
However, Dixon Lin (International sales manager) did acknowledge the issues that unfolded and confirmed that the new wheel was shipped out yesterday.

So, another week later but I am hoping to have the wheels back by Tuesday next week.

Thanks guys.
Appreciated your support.

To be honest, I'm worn out and pretty fed up with it all.
However, I'm trying to put things out of my mind and just wait for the wheels to arrive.

Dixon at BC says that the wheel was shipped on Tuesday.
So I'm figuring that Projex should have it by Monday.
If they get it early enough, they should be able to get the wheels to me by Wednesday.

But this wheel situation has taught me to not be so optimistic.
I believe it was a week ago that I was led to believe the same thing!

Just trying to occupy myself with stuff to take my mind off the wheels.
It's been so long, I've forgotten what the car looks like with them on!

Had my MOT today. All good.
Car is booked in for a service tomorrow so I'll concentrate on that and try and chill at the weekend.
