Fresh air filters w124

Came across this url in a post on another forum Details replacing the fresh air filters on E500 W124 Post implies these filters were fitted to 94-95 w124s only. I have them onmine - E320 Coupe 95 model.

I guess if your car has aircon then it would probably have these, although MB told me on three separate occasions that mine did not have them.

If you wait till its dark and then shine a torch through the two small grills under the wiper motor you should be able to make out if they are there. Look for greyish filter blades assuming that they would not have been changed for quite a while.

By the way it is a fiddly job but can be done in carefully in about an hour as I did. Amazing difference to heating/cooling system.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately dont have aircon on my e220. Its the one option I would really like to have had, but a retrofit was priced at about £2500 some time back. While it seemed attractive then a necessary trip down to London and a total dismantle of the dashboard etc put me off at the time. I will take a look at night with a torch as you suggested. Thanks

Quick update. Checked last night-NO filters. Guess it's a aircon only fitment. Should have guessed that from the dust level in the cabin on a summer day.
