Front left wheel arch question

I needed to replace the alarm horn last week (another story)
Anyway I removed the rear half of the wheel arch liner to gain access.
Mines a November 1999 S class 320.
When the job was done I went to replace the cover and found a plastic oval shaped tube about a foot or so long floating between the floor panel close to the jacking point.
My guess is its some kind of drain tube and I wondered if there are any bodywork schematics available so that i can trace exactly what it is and where it should be located.
Thanks for any help.

That was so scary, I went straight out to the car armed with a bright torch and checked this out.
Its cold out there tonight but I dont care. Anyway its spotless in there and the drain hole is completely clear.
We have had a lot of rain the past week so if water wasnt getting away it would show.
I even checked out the footwell and carpets for damp but they are bone dry.
This is a very usefull warning to all Dec.
I find it difficult to believe that a manufacturer of a car as well put togethor as the Mercedes S class should have such a simple yet catastrophic fault.
If this drain point was to block.
A lovely car could receive so much water damage that by the time you've had the electronics replaced, and the carpets stripped and dryed, you could easily be looking at a cost that would leave you with a write off.
Blocked drain point = write off ???
Thats just not right !!!!!!!!!
