Only my second post, still trying to deal with brake judder and supposed warped discs. After much asking around and chattting with many mechanics I finally decided to buy original Merc Discs & pads for my 2004 W203 C220 CDI estate and fit them myself (96,000 miles). I have had 2 sets of after market discs & pads giving me brake judder when I brake after only 2 weeks of use after fitting by (Porsche) Independant.
After fitting driver side disc yesterday, I inserted one new pad it became apparent that it was spinning oddly.... as during its spinning, it would touch then not touch the new pad.... as if it wasn't centred vertically. I think it would certainly be a reason for the discs to start juddering after a couple of weeks and I am now thinking of new front wheel hubs (probably second hand) or at least the part onto which the brake disc is mounted and secured.
My question is then, are all W203 front wheel hubs the same ? (bearing in mind there are so many variants of the model). Will a C180 W203 front wheel hub fit a W203 C220 ?
Has anybody had anything similar happen ? Am distrustful of MB garages, official or independants and use only when I must...
Thanks
