frosty cars ..

I didn't think later X19 rust so it should be savable as mechanically it will be sound.

That's a smart X19 and there is a dedicated following for them.

Would be nice to restore it to its former glory, though:

Later X1/9's- 86 on rust worse than the rest, the Gran Finale worst of all.

Here's mine pre rolling resto- it is the white one in the snow/frost pics..

Was bought, refreshed and on the road fully MOT'd and taxed for less than 800 quid- including 4 new tyres.

And another very late Gran Finale that gave up its life to allow other X1/9's to carry on...

And the engine was rebuilt to live on too.

That looks like the standard FIAT engine used in all the 1.4 and 1.6 passenger cars. Apart from some valve guide wear with miles, a very reliable unit.

Its the Lampredi SOHC, this is the 1500cc one, went from 1100 up to 1600, and have been taken out further than that.A brilliant engine with a bulletproof bottom end- will take 11,000 RPM I believe. Used in loads of different Fiat and Lancia's- even the Bravo/Brava with a 16v head.

I wish they would build this...
