gbjeppm key fob

Certainly, I'll PM you when it arrives.

This would be helpful as not all members can find a £150 just like that when they have families and other rising cost.

If we can make this sticky in the DIY section at the end it can all help to make the forum better than it is, if that is possible :)

That restriction applies to my situation hence the caution with the 1 key that we do have.

No doubt the best forum I've encountered in many years! What goes around comes around.

Integrated Circuit , these are where many circuits and hundreds of components are placed are place in a chip ½ the size of a postage stamp, they can have up to 290 legs on them. these are the specific components programmed to your car.

All of the components are flow or wave soldered onto the PCB, and sometimes the weight of the component causes the part to break lose Hand soldering where possible over comes this problem.

If you went out and bought a new TV and you hand soldered all of the 2000 or so joints, the chances are it would never go wrong

When I was taught to solder, I had to dip the solder into a pot of flux too, not like the all in one stuff the cheaters use today.

If you used flux on these things they would be scrap within a couple of months as it would eat through the copper track, and the smallest solder we use is only 0.5mm or 18 swg and that contains 5 cores of flux

Do bare in mind when you get it back that the battery had to be removed and a may require a re sync, but I do not know for sure, it will be in the handbook

Malcolm

Remote received safely, fully functioning and no re sync needed.

It's towards the right hand side with the buttons facing down. You need to pull the board at the same time.

I just did mine with some mini snipe nosed pliers to check for you..

After taking the key apart I noticed it is different to the one pictured previously, was that a Das2 or Das3 key?

Das3 key innards.

and after putting it back together it's nice to know it's working Ok by pointing it at a digital camera and watching the IR pulses.

Testing Key

This thread has been for quite awhile. Any chance to still see the pic of how to remove the PCB board ?
