gear knob removal

hi, does anyone know how to remove the gear knob on a 2004 c220. mine is all come apart and im having a problem finding a replacement never mind getting the old removed, it has the up lift for reverse on it, any help would be great, thanks

At the base is a plastic ring twist it round and it will undo away fron the knob, then pull upward with a wiggle and it should come off.

What he said ^ .. Don't be afraid to twist, it's anti clockwise also!

Which gear knob are you replacing it with? I have a Leather 2012 AMG sport gear knob for an automatic i need to sell, mines manual so i'm seeking one similar in manual.

my car is manual. dont think an automatic one fits? and thanks for the replies

Manual comes of the same you just have to lift the gaitor up to reveal the plastic part that needs to be twisted.

Yeah my same issue mate, i have a manual, it's a different fitment.. £165 for one from Mercedes!
