Just to let you know there is a software update for the 7 mct available, just had mine done on my E63 W212

Don't no why I bother on here as your all so perfect! There was no need to post that was there really. Every time I try and help or confirm something someone acts like a p*at.

Suppose they'll do mine when it's due it's next service then. Would they do it automatically (no pun intended) or is it something I'd have to ask about?

Sorry mate can't answer (well actually I can) but I am sure somebody more perfect will confirm

If you ask them in S+ mode they might do it, if you ask in Comfort mode then they might take a more relaxed approach

Is this only E63? My C63 was in a month ago an they said there where no updtes for the gearbox, they even showed me a print out saying the same.

May depend on age and if it's already been done. Mines a 2010 with no records of any updates hence it was available.

You'll have to ask for the update if in warranty. Mine was previously up to date apart from one specific area. This has now made a big difference as to how the mct gearbox works. Much smoother and quicker.

My personal experience is they do not apply gearbox updates by default, technician told me they only apply them if the customer is complaining of an issue, said they normally cause more trouble than they are worth and take quite some time to do.

That is correct for BMW however the gearbox update on the merc is far simpler. Mine was done in 30 mins.

I don't know about BMW, never had a gearbox update on that. My experience was from MB Dartford when I owned my C63.

Ok sorry just saw 335d in your profile, however it is the case with BMW which is why I never updated anything on my 535d lci
