Evening all! Having now acquired my C250TD, I have a few things I'd like your help on!

...Aside from that, she has 150k on the clock and tuly drives brilliantly...no squeaks, bangs, knocks, or smoke, just a bit of a stutter on start up but the glow plug light stays on after start up for 30 seconds...no diesel leaks from the lines or anything.

1) The Horn...it sounds like a castrated pig! Horrible, just a measly whinge of a noise, how would I go about replacing the horn with something loud and decent like an MB horn should be? Where is the horn located?

2) The car heats up to just above 40c, new thermostat required I assume?

3) Glow plugs are needed replaced soon, which ones, Beru or Bosch? I'll be avoiding NGK as I had trouble with them in my 306TD...

4) Oil change...standard 10W40...?

5) Does Anyone know a good reputable garage around London/South Essex to do the thermostat & glow plugs...?

Cheers...

Harry

Open the bonnet and when looking at the engine the thermostat is on the left hand side just above the laternator (3-4 torx bolts to remove the aluminium cover. Save yourself £50 labour charge.

Glow plugs requiers inlet manifold removal but still not difficult unless they seize..

Not sure on oil I'd like to know that as well actually, Remember is takes more than a gallon so you'll need more than the typical container theyre sold on.

There is no such thing as a reputable garage IMHO. :P
