Having had an attempt to steal my car this weekend by the scanner method which thankfully was unsuccessful I am now thinking of adding another security layer and looking at the Ghost immobiliser. I already make sure the car is double locked and have key in a faraday box. Has anyone any experience with the Ghost immobiliser or any other suggestion to keep my baby safe.

A great deterrent as well! For the cost compared to a ghost alarm you can't go wrong!
A bit cumbersome but you get used to it. It's not too heavy

Disk locks although quite highly rated only provide about 5 mins of protection from a skilled car thief plus they are big and bulky items to store. I would much prefer the option of the Ghost system and the smaller Stoplock device. You have to draw a balance between prevention and what is practical.
Having said that to nick my car from home a thief would first have to remove the Golf which is parked in front of my garage which has a steering lock plus alarm fitted and then gain entry to the garage which is also alarmed and then gain entry to the MB which keys are kept in one of those silver foil pouches hidden in the house and then by-pass the alarm on the car and b4 he drives off in my motor he has to remove the two heavy duty security bollards in front of the garage. If he can do all that whilst also being filmed on CCTV in the garage he is welcome to the car and fully deserves it as a result of all his hard work.

The advantage of the Disclock (or any other large yellow steering wheel lock) is that the 5 extra minutes mean that when the thieves carry-out their reconnaissance, the other C63s in your area will be more attractive to them.
It's a bit like having bars on your windows - they work great as long as the other houses next to yours don't have them....

Have cctv set up with line crossing. They tried for 2 minutes and gave up.

I had Autowatch Ghost 2 fitted by Comandonline within a month of buying my E63. I don't live in a high car theft or crime area, but the extra layer of security it gives makes it worth the £399 to me.
Absolutely hidden, nobody would have a clue it's fitted until (if they manage to start the car) its put into gear and stalls. It won't restart without a pin code.

Do you have a choice of how it immobilises the car? Do they all start and stall on gear selection or can you program them to just crank over and not start?

Luckily removed now, but not fair on other Ghost users.
