glow plug light stays on after start

2002 e 320cdi light stays on for mybe half hour after start and then goes out. acts normal for rest of day. is this normal

Staying on for half an hour isn't, but staying on for some minutes after start indicates either a plug is blown or the relay unit is duff. Normally a plug gone.
