Glow plug ml270 (w163)

Sorry if this is a stupid question but.......

.....Could someone tell the best way to get to the glow plug nearest windscreen?

I can't get in to get the black cap off,

Is there an easy way or tool to pull it off. I've been using long nose pliers., they fit down to reach but I cant open them to pull cap off.

If you look at the gas filled bonnet supports where they attach to the bonnet you will see another 'spare' ball joint on each side of the bonnet a few inches along from where the struts attach to the bonnet....just pop off the struts (lever off with a screwdriver) and re-attach to the 'spare' ball joints and the bonnet will then be lifted in a vertical position ....... then, remove the 2 10mm nuts that hold the expansion tank (no need to disconnect any of the coolant pipes) and move the tank to one side and you will then have much greater access to number 5 glowplug (and injector)

Had a look just now, removed bolts on expansion tank. However there isn't a lot of movement to move it out the way. Maybe if I disconnect a couple of pipes?

I won't let it beat me haha!
