A friend of mine has a very fast Nissan something-or-other FTO. Do I recall someone (may have been Sym but not heard from him for ages) saying they knew of a disused airfield in the Midlands where she could burn it up? Not a full blown race track as she has very little money. LOL

There are clubs that do this sort of thing.. woodbridge is one such place as is elvington.

The cheapest way is probably a run what you brung day at santapod.

Ive looked into this before, Santa Pod is ok but its only a 1/4 mile strip and can get busy.Years ago i took my Sapphire Cosworth to an Airstrip up north somewhere(may of been Elvington the name rings a bell)they gave me a radio and you had to park up when a light aircraft was coming into land

Ive also taken the Cosworth on the Alconbury runway again this was years ago when it was shut down and we were taking down hangers to be put back up at the Mildenhall base, Ive spoken to someone on the gatehouse at Alconbury a few months back and they say its now a no no as the runways used to store cars.

So i would be interested if you find somewhere,I found a list of airstrips but most were grass and the ones with a concrete strip said they wouldnt rent them out for 30mins so i sort of gave up on the idea.

Keep an eye on the VMAX section on Pistonheads. There are other events though.

167mph last weekend :D

Wish there was somewhere just a little bit longer so I could get the limiter in 6th, it's good for 170+
