Got hit by a drunk driver

Nice to see a happy ending. The bad guy getting his comeuppance and the hero riding of into the sunset on a nice charger (sounds better than hire car. :D )

I have to say I am VERY impressed by the other parties insurance company, will be getting a quote from them myself at renewal time - Quinn Insurance.

I wonder some times that insurance cos don't realise that a 3rd party claim is a good marketing opportunity.

I won't touch Zurich or Axa under any circumstances due to the exact opposite experience with them on no-fault claims against them.

I had a letter from the police today. The driver was convicted of drink driving & got a 12 month ban + £150 fine.

That all?

Considering he was 2 times the limit, had TWO accidents, attempted run to avoid being caught & drove over a pavement while p1ssed I'd say he got off lightly.

I agree, but I think he immediately pleaded guilty and took it on the chin - fair play to him for not messing about. If I lost my license for a year I would loose my job, so a 12 month ban can be painfull.

At least it is another drink driver off the road for the time being....

Your comments about the insurance company are very good and isn't it nice that the police have kept you informed? We are all good kids at knocking the fuzzy wuzzies but perhaps we might be a bit on the slow side when it comes to appreciation? Mind you this will no doubt be a civilian department that does this task:devil:  :)

Good luck with the repairs

regards
John

I sometimes have no idea how magistrates pick a fine out of the air ....£150 jeez....peanuts...12 months ban - basic minimum...too damn lenient.... I would have thought at least 18 months for 2 x limit...
