Grease Junkie Garage (Ed China)

Once when I driving down past Swinely towards the M3, Ed past me in what looked like a four poster bed. I believe that he still holds the World Record for the fastest piece of furniture!

Nice, I knew his place was somewhere in Bracknell but hadn't seen the website.

he was in sainsburys doing his shopping :D

he was in a "sofa car" at this years Mini London To Brighton...

Damaged my foot so off work going to watch my recorded wheeler dealers in a min I would also visit if he gave me Brewer rates

Is Ed any more knowledgable than your local indy? :dk:

Doubt it. He can't know all about every car the Brewer turns up in.it is all set up for the TV viewer

What's good about Ed is he is multi skilled and can do lots of stuff engine, interior, exterior, etc...I agree wheeler dealer is set up for the TV so hard to gauge how knowledgeable he is, but he does seem like a nice chap...does anyone on here know someone who has used his garage?

Just had a look at his shop……extra long nitrile gloves. For the deep inspection?

I think Ed is very knowledgeable and a genuine "motor vehicle Engineer". He understands vehicle systems on a generic level, meaning he doesn't look at a particular brand, but understands the engineering behind all systems, mechanical, electrical, data, hydraulic, body manufacture, etc.

I met him a few years ago and had a ride in his bed.. Er, the car bed that is. It was much better put together than I was expecting, not knowing him from adam, and motored on. I think we hit about 65mph... Eyes on stalks!

Clearly an intelligent bloke.

That is not very argumentative bit of a shock

I don't believe in multiple skills . People like that they are like ducks , they can walk , swim , fly but they are not really good at any of those !;)

You may be right. I have heard that Leonardo DaVinci (artist, sculpture, inventor, architect, musician, mathematician, engineer, anatomist, geologist, cartographer, botanist, writer) wasn't a very good cook.:p

Cars are pretty simple machines and most employ the same systems. The only differences are either manufacre by Nippon Denso or Bosch.
A generic engineer understands how all work, a technician is trained to deal with a specific brand.

I agree but a mechanic should be skilled enough to work with any mechanical issue .
My only point is a mechanic is good at mechanics ,coach-maker is good at body work and a painter is good at painting .
One person is not good at all of those !;)
