Grease Junkie Garage (Ed China)

I took my convertible there for the TerraClean last year. He wasn't there, but apparently you do see him on occasions.

I think Ed is very knowledgeable and a genuine "motor vehicle Engineer". He understands vehicle systems on a generic level, meaning he doesn't look at a particular brand, but understands the engineering behind all systems, mechanical, electrical, data, hydraulic, body manufacture, etc.

That is the difference between an engineer and a mechanic. Engineers are born, mechanics are (semi) trained.

You may be right. I have heard that Leonardo DaVinci (artist, sculpture, inventor, architect, musician, mathematician, engineer, anatomist, geologist, cartographer, botanist, writer) wasn't a very good cook.:p

Brilliant! Collapse of stout party, the cleverest put-down I've seen for years.

It's not Ed you want to speak to...it's the guy who helps him fit/remove the heavy item who know's his sh*t

I'm a fully skilled engineer and have been for the past 22 years and if you give me a engine , gearbox or anything mechanical related to do I'm your man but if you give me bodywork to do or make spray a car I'll be your worst nightmare !:)

I think you prove the point, nobody would claim a painter/body repairer was or needed to be either an engineer or a mechanic although many may well be. The vast majority of jobs only need the average intelligence,or they wouldn't get done.

Ah - an executive garage owner. Like those restaurants that have a celebrity chefs' name above the door.

He's far too busy doing pro-bono work for Mike to run his garage too! LOL!

The office is next door to the garage and what I mean is an office block!

What made me laugh was when I asked the mechanic if I needed to take it easy for a while after the engine clean. He just said, I'll take it out for a run now, then it will be fine. The next thing I could hear the scream of my V6 wellying down to the end of the road and back. I guessed the answer to my question was no!
