It's ML eve...pick her up tomorrow :bannana: BUT I know that the carpets are quite grubby and need a good clean up. What's the most effective on the market?

A wet vac is a great way of cleaning carpets.

I use a wet vac, george, like a henry but does wet cleaning.

I notice you are in london, i get the local polish guys to give mine a once over, they usually have a very strong suction and charge around £10-15 to do a whole interior...

Great tips but ensure you give the carpets a really good hoover to get rid of as much dust and dirt before you wet the carpet.

I have to confess that I am fanatical about cleaning all our cars especially the wedding cars which have to be spotless. I have always cleaned my carpets by hand using hot water and clothes washing liquid and a nylon scrubbing brush immediately followed by a good wipe with a clean cloth.

Of course, using a machine is much easier - must invest in one one day:)

I'd say best idea would be a wet vac or as jaymanek said; a local Polish car wash. I usually use a wet vac for my Sprinter interior carpets and seats, but on the odd occasion with really bad soiling, I've driven to the Polish car wash bout 5 mins from me.

I used vanish carpet cleaner on my mats, and then rinsed them in the spare bathroom. Left them to dry in there in the base of the bath so they dry flat. Came up nice, but did involve a bit of scrubbing.

A difficult subject, certainly get all you can out vacuuming dry, I am not sure that the carpets are ever the same once they have been wet, they seam to get dirtier quicker

Hi All, Newbie to the site and to Mercedes ownership!

Love the Forum!

I have just brought a lovely C200K estate and needed to give the boot a good clean and found "Ambersill Groome" great, spray over the carpet, leave 20 secs and wipe clean with a damp cloth, The carpets came up like new and all for 5.99

Works on all fabric vinyl etc.

Welcome to the forum. :)
When I bought my 300TE new in Sweden MB sold a foam cleaner that you could use throughout the car, it worked well and gave the car a nice fresh smell without perfume

Hello Television

I have also used this for spot cleaning the upolstery, head lining and seat belts! has a slight lemonie smell, doesn't last for long thou.
