Car
600cl
will be doing a few runs at santa pod on saturday, its a club event so will get plenty of runs in:cool:
i will be running my cl600 bi turbo also it will be her first run on the strip,
the car is stock but *** will be remapping her tomoz
so guess my best time, will post up results sunday evening:D

Can't see it being quite as quick as that personally? Maybe into the 12's - I'll go for 12.7

Will

If it gets mapped and yields the same results as Maff's CL65, then i dont doubt it'll do somewhere in the 11's. the E55K does late 12's - early 13's doesn't it?

12.5

what BHP / torque will it have after the remap.

12.9

If this run is in the high 12's then the OP must be about aged 70, Assuming relatively young driver good reactions then I reckon 11.8 secs. If the re map is good and exploits the full capabilities of the car coupled with a good driver then you could see a time of sub 11 secs, this one will be interesting

I trust Ollies' judgement - so will say between 12.8 and 13.0

See HERE gives the OP something to aim for

Thats US strips and almost certainly on slicks
US times bear no relation to what is achieved here, the tracks are always a lot better prepared and a vast numver of them are downhill!

Anything in the 12s will be good, anything in the 11's is truely blisteringly quick and TBH I think it wont come close to a 10.

Just waiting for the results now

No they aren't all US strips there are some UK ones too as funnily enough you don't get Renault Clios or Renault Meganes on the strip in the US, look at they cars you will see some are UK and they are on road tyres.

I agree tracks are a lot better prepared and most US racing is done on slicks but must admit I have never seen a strip in the US that has any gradient on it uphill or downhill.

My money is still on 11.8 with a driver with good reactions and a quick car.

A 1/4 mile time at Santa Pod will not vary given your reaction times. They are measured, but your time starts when you do.

if it was a 1994 c180 youd be lookin at 9 secs flat.. but a cl 11/12
lol
does a remap delimit the car???

I but must admit I have never seen a strip in the US that has any gradient on it uphill or downhill.

There are loads (hundreds?) of them! Obviously they are not all NHRA sanctioned strips but they certainly exist. I have seen vids of so called "runs" that are laughable

There is a black Brabus E55 that runs about 11.8/11.9 at pod with some regularity - but thats after a bit of practice.
We raced a pretty much stock 06 plate SL55 that consistently managed 13.2 to an eventual best 12.7
