I recently became the proud owner of a 1990 300TE-24 which I intend to use as my daily drive. I want to install a Nokia CK-7W hands free kit which I have. I know how to wire it up etc but how do I remove the trim from the tunnel in the footwell so I can fit the unit in and route the mic? All help greatly appreciated together with any pointers I should know about.

There's a hidden posidriv screw in the centre of the side panel to the centre console. If you remove that the panel will come away on most cars as the other screws will have been removed & not replaced. You need to move the carpet/trim downwards and towards the front of the car to move it out from underneath the edge of the console

You'll find removing the carpet mat makes this much easier. I always go in via the passenger side as access is so much easier. Under the carpet mat is a removeable metal frloor panel with plenty of space under it for the Nokia brain
