If i called my missus a grey goose i would expect a severe beating with a wet lettuce leaf.

Hi,at one time all cars had a footswitch, some had two, one to dip the headlights, the other was a pump, worked the windscreen washer.Showing my age again.Might not be this but thought I would mention it.
ANY OTHER OLD FOLKS OUT THERE REMEMBER??
Sorry boss, I'm feeling a bit delicate after a night on the Grey Goose, so I might have to pass on that....
Bearing in mind the year on year innovations I think there is possibly no such thing as "the Holy Grail". What are standard fit now were options only a few years ago. Having said that perhaps an original Model T Ford fits the bill!
Unit504's thread about buying an E55 or C55 got me thinking about the specifications of Mercedes...
We hear it all the time 'absolutely every extra', 'top spec' etc etc in car adverts, yet it doesn't take eagle-eyes to spot some holes in their descriptions.
I know that you can't have every single extra because some are contradictory; Bose or HK sound for example.
So has anyone had a Mercedes with 'every possible extra' or what's the nearest you've seen.

I like to think mine comes close with £16K's worth of options, however it is missing such things as electric extending loadspace floor and cooled seats, plus others I'm sure - the W211 option list is very long.
I've not seen another better equipped E320 CDI yet though.
Brabus D6 III chip giving 272bhp/590Nm - Brabus badging, engine covers, door buttons, all dealer fitted at PDI - Factory fitted AMG bodykit - Keyless go - Airmatic air suspension - COMAND 2.5 - Harman Kardon - 4 zone Thermotronic - Linguatronic - Distronic - Parktronic - Memory seats - Heated seats - Tyre pressure monitoring - Infra red glass - Blinds (it's got blackout glass??) - Auto tailgate - Garage door opener - Tracker - Fire Extinguisher

Do you old timers remember cars that had the tear-drop indicator switch in the middle of the dash. I remember them as a kid, because as a kid it was my job to operate it. But no idea what car. You had to twist to the left or right depending which side you wanted to operate, and then move it back to cancel.
The next first car I remember that had what we now consider normal, a stalk self cancelling indicator on the column. Now that was luxury and compared to what we now take for granted, it was pure magic.
