Has Anyone Tried Continental Premium Contact 2 Tyres

Bump...

Anyone care to comment on ContiPremiumContact 2?

I used to run ContiPremiumContact 2 but moved to Premium Contact 5p whch I had spec'd on the Volvo for summer use, it's currently wearing Michelin Alpin winter tyres. Continental tyres have always served me well, no premature wear rates or loss of traction but I have found you have to run them at slightly higher pressures than the book says to get the best out of them.

There is a lot of snobbery talked about tyres and I agree with previous posts, my CLK is wearing Nankang NS2 after good experience with their competition tyres and I have to admit they are brilliant much better than the Falkens they replaced. Our Audi A8 which pushes out over 400 bhp is on Kumho and they too are brilliant.

I stick to Conti because of the high motorway miles and high speeds I do they are brilliant in the wet and under braking and I believe the car is much more stable with these than other brands in these type of situations,so I stick with them.

Hope that helps

I had them before switching to Michelin HP Premacy.

I prefer the Contis. Particularly on the rear. I don't think the Michelins are wearing any better either - around 25K out of the rears - same as I got out of the Contis.

Wow. Five year dead thread revival. Conti 3's are are the norm for new Mercs these days, aren't they?

No thread is ever dead !!
Remember - My cars have been 1997 E300TDs.
Richard at Rodley Motors recommended the "2"s, when he sold me the first car.
Never had any reason to doubt them.

I had them on my w124 estate, which they're well suited to. Great in the wet and under braking, wear not too bad, totally useless in snow slush or anything slippery. I use Nokian EnTyre all seasons on my Subarus, excellent tyres.

Conti have different ranges.

The ContiPremiumContact is the range for exec cars (comfort and low noise range) and the latest is 2.

Other ranges - ContiSportContact (sporty range) and ContiEcoContact (economy range) for example - are up to different numbers.

I've done many miles on PremiumContact 2's and I found them noisy, fast-wearing and not so good in damp conditions, i'm now running Michelin HP Primacy and they are much quieter and my traction control warning light never comes on now in damp conditions. Can't comment on wear/life as they've only done a couple of thousand miles...

I agree completely.
