E320 CDI Avantgarde
Just got my E320 CDI- which I bought from Jay- Thanks again mate, lovely car!!! Goes like muck off a shovel!!!

I actually live in Spain, and need the lights to be adjusted for driving on the right.

IS there a lever on the headlights to move them over? Or is there a button that does it automatically?

I´ve had a look, but can´t see anything obvious.

That should be all I need to do to pass the Spanish MOT isn´t it?

Advice would be appreciated!!!

Also, do you adjust the mechanical dash clock via the computer? Been searching for the time and date settings but can´t find them.

Cheers.

Xenons or halogens?

210 or 211?

No levers on the 210

Lever next to bulb on the 211 with bi-xenons and halogens. 211 with Intelligent Lighting System needs STAR to adjust

I know they are Xenons, but not which number.

It´s a 54 reg 2004 320 CDI Avantgarde. Any idea which number it should be?

Do you have to unscrew the cap to get to the bulb, or is it outside?

Thanks.

2004 would be a W211 Check here - Mercedes-Benz - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Yes the lever is under the black cap next to the bulb. Go carefully, they can snap easily. Make sure ignition is OFF, very high voltages present!!

Much appreciated!! Thanks.

Am I being dense, or is there no way of viewing the date?

I´ve located the way of adjusting the time (albeit in 30 minute units for some reason?) There is another setting for adjusting the date format, but cannot see the date at all.

Also, do I need a CD for the navigation? It says calculating route, but it shouldn´t take that long to calculate should it?

She says route calculating, but then all I see is the big arrow. Maybe it does take a long time to calculate?

Not sure about the date. Can you not see it when adjusting the time/date on the COMAND? Not too familiar with the 211 but perhaps it needs connection with satalites to get the correct time?

Yes you need a CD, this may be in the Nav unit in the boot. Route calculation doesn't usually take long, 30 - 90sec max.

What happens when you select Map display? Does COMAND show the correct current location? If not perhaps the GPS aerial is faulty

It doesn´t say the correct location.

Could it be because I am in Spain, and is loaded with UK software?

I´m just used to my Tomtom being pre loaded with European maps.

DOH!!

I think that may have something to do with it :o

^

Just checked the Cd out, and it says Europa on it.

Confused!!

Does anyone know if this disc is specific to UK?

Have you got COMAND APS (big screen) or Audio50 (small screen)?

If you have COMAND APS, the date/time is set in the SERV menu on the COMAND unit itself. Once you set it, the analogue clock in the cluster will wind fast forward/reverse for a few seconds and correct the time.

Again, if you have COMAND, the boot-mounted nav drive accommodates a DVD disc, not CD. It is Europe-wide.

I have to confess that I don't know what to do about setting Audio50, although the nav discs are CDs in this case.

The disc is:

DVD-ROM Europa 2004,COMMAND APS. version 3.0 A211 827 52 59.. B6 782 3341

Which I think should work in Spain.

So I´m not sure why it isn´t.

I think you still have to select the country. It should then work.

Yep, done that.

That disc should definitely work in Spain, and the rest of Europe. Rather than NAV, when you look at MAP, where do you appear to be?

You only need to set a country when you are trying to navigate somewhere. The GPS should provide a fix for MAP, which should show your current location, regardless. What satellite count/coordinates is shown in MAP view?

I don´t think it´s locating me at all. So could be a problem with the satellite reciever?

Are there any troubleshooting things I can try?

I don´t think it is seeing any, but I have never used this type of navigation before, so I don´t know exactly what I´m looking for.

But there is no map either.

It has the list of Spanish towns. But then when I press ok to navigate, she says route calculating, but then it does nothing, and I´m just left with the large nav arrow.

No co-ordinates, no town names.

The clock only goes up in 30 min increments, which means it is receiving satellite signals?
