E300 Hybrid Estate
Hello to everyone from me, a new member.

We are on our 3rd MB now and to date have been very pleased with the cars we have had in the family, one of the original A Class (3 years ownership), a CLK (10 years ownership) and now an E300 Hybrid Estate (8 months ownership). They have all had their ups and down but the CLK does stand out as being the best we have owned and finally retired it at 245k miles.

I spent 4 months last year looking for a nearly new E300 hybrid of the specification I wanted and eventually bought the present car a 2014 E300 SE Estate which I have been really pleased with. I wanted an SE rather than the AMG model for a more compliant ride and amongst other options it has are the intelligent headlamps (superb) and dynamic seats (keeps my son amused).

Here's my question - when selecting Sport mode the hybrid "ready" indicator turns yellow / orange - do they all do this ?

I've looked in all the paperwork and cannot find any reference to the "ready" indicator being any colour other than green?

Does anyone know what the change in colour signifies?

Many thanks,

blueeco

Ive got an E300 Blutec Hybrid as well and I'm well pleased with it your questions re the READY green and Yellow I would love to know the answer to that as well.
Also occassionally when gunning away from a standstill with a warm engine irrespective as to E, S or M selected I get violent stuttering as if its being starved of fuel.
My local mercedes dealer say it might need a software update?
Any help on either of the two quesries above gratefully received-Thanks in anticipation...

Hi,

I have a C300 Hybrid and though I've read the electronic guide extensively I don't remember seeing any reference to a change of colour and I've only driven my car in Comfort.

However, just a guess but could it be because the ECO start/stop is off in Sport and Sport Plus ?

Yep there is an addendum manual for the E300 saloon and estate
E signifys hybrid fully functioning and ready GREEN
S signifys hybrid system off And ready YELLOW
M signifys hybrid system off and ready YELLOW
Interestingly enough if you give it plenty in S mode then switch back to E mode the ready indicative light still stays on yellow, but it will eventually reset to Ready Green or when you stop the default will go back to Ready Green
Hope this helps....

thanks Chaps,

glad I'm not going mad !

it would be nice however if MB would make this type of information a little more widely available and clearer, ie indicator lamp colours and meanings !

to me an orange / yellow light means a problem, but on this occasion it would appear not, unless of course it comes on when running in "E"........

thanks again.
