Help ! 2002 C 270 CDI WILL NOT START

Yippeeee, could not wait to get up this morning Sunday. (how sad is that)!! any got up never even had my cornflakes went straight outside (crack of dawn) 0900. flipped the flipper inserted key into ignition waited for curly light to go out turned the key and it started first time!! i was over the moon, mate picked me up to go shooting returned just after dinner went through the same procedure and it again started first time. So it went from totaly not starting to me fitting the fuel pipe that lives on top of the engine with the valve on the end, finding out that there was no fuel pressure so fitted new low pressure pump and also the fuel pipe to the fuel filter £360.00 later im happy. Thanks Guys Regards Dave...

Sorry only just picked up your message, the guy that helped me go it from Euro Parts, and billed me £143.48. sorry dont know part number, but it was the low pressure pump at the front and on top of the high pressure pump. hope this helps. Regards Dave...

I did the same last week with my E320 CDI Doc, the pipe I replaced with the T piece up to the bleed valve NRV on the top goes into the port nearest the engine block, not as it appears in the EPC. Note this is on the 320 CDI not necessarily the same, however once swapped back it started second crank.

Cold out ain'it.
Hi - see you have a E320 CDI auto estate avantgard and since this cold spell have had problems starting the car - if I keep it in the garage and start it everyday it has started on the second crank and then on the first crank during the same day. Have read all the info on the forums and wonder if it is the problem with the fuel pipe or seals as suggested. Can you tell me what NRV and EPC mean and if there is a technical maunal (like the Haynes ones) you can buy ?
Thanks in advance
Lins

I am sure NRV means non return valve, on my 270 after you remove the engine cover it exposes the fuel filter the fuel lines and the low and high pressure pumps, i atarted off by replacing the fuel line with the black plastic end on top of the engine, after cranking the engine i noticed that there was no fuel appearing in the new fuel line, i then removed the fuel pipe that goes into the filter and used a squirty oil can fill with fuel to fill the fuel lines, it still would not start ithen had to get a friend with more technical knoledge involved he diagnosed that the fuel pressure was very low! and advised me to change the low pressure fuel pump at the front of the engine on my 2002 270 its the top one, after fitting it we again primed the fuel lines with the trusty squirty can and it started first time. in all it cost me £360.00, but ive now got a car that starts first time everytime other than a MB trailer. hope this helps. Regards Dave.. ps dont know what EPC means..

Bleeding C270 CDI fuel lines

Hi

Can anyone assist me, what is the procedure to bleed the fuel lines on my C270 CDi ?:dk: Any help appreciated, thanks :bannana:

Hi. My 270cdi started today for 4 seconds and stop. So I try it again and did not start. I seek the problem and find that the fuel line was empty (looking in the transparent line near the pump). So I "drain" it and started again, but I could see the air bobbles in the line. Leaving off for few minutes the line was without diesel again, so I do have a leak (or is there any return valve?). When opening to drain the fuel, one of the connectors (fitting) broke. So I'm guessing that I need the o-rings set and one of the lines. I would like to know if someone can tell me where I can buy it in London???
Any other guess / idea???
Thanks a lot!
