HELP C270 NO Power Wont Rev over 3000 rpm

PLEASE PLEASE Can Anyone help just got back from leaving wife to work and the car sudenly wont rev past 3000 rpm. Goes Ok up to it then struggles from 2800 to 3000 then thats it stays there as if somethings holding it back. The car is a C270 CDI Model Year 2002 with 58000 miles.

Any help would be appreciated.

Looks like it's in limp home mode.

Possibly Mass Air Sensor - have a search and you'll find loads of info.

Possibly the turbo wastegate stuck open so the ECU registers no boost and throws limp home mode.
There is a special spray grease to alleviate this.

but there is no warning at all on the display evertything is normal

Stop light switch is located under the dash top of the brake pedal, we run a fleet of theses and sprinters and it's quite a common fault. Also if you put it on the Star diagnosis it wont show up as a fault.

Sounds like a MAF 2 me mate... mine had the same symptons and came on very sudden too...

High temperature silicon grease sprayed onto the wastegate operation pivot.
