Ive got a clk w208 on a 1997.

I have jus bought a command unit, which i believed should work but im not sure after reading all the posts on here???

The command model is 2088203789

The problem i think ive got is that my car does not have CANBUS, is this true?
Are there any ways around it?

Any help would be much appriciated.

Cheers
Akash

...a canbus converter from audiocomp.de...

greetingz,

or megacomm.de .... or me - I have 1 surplus to requirements!

I'm not sure why Steve doesnt sell them . Audiocomp are notoriously slow at responding to order requests but Steve lives not far from them. I'm sure he could buy from audiocomp & sell them on for a small profit & enhance his service to forum members.

ive had a look on both sites, the first one only seems to do one for the command 2.5, mine is the 2.0.

The second one does not have anything for my model number,

I guess im just not clued up with it!

Would the spare you have work with my unit, if so how much would you want for it?

Also, what do i do about a gps ariel?

If after i cut the spacer in my clk to make the double din slot, i wanted to remove the command at a later date, would this be possible, how would i fit a normal stereo back in?

Sorry guys, just 1 more, ive seen that it has an aux in, people talk about using mp3 players, but is there anyway of getting a rca out? To run external amps?

Thanks!

Buying one ionside the Uk from Steve bcs is a lot easier then going through the hassle of geting one from Germany.

I myself usually don't sell them as I had a pretty steady stock of 150 comands and was able to use the proper comands for the proper customers...and having mailed with megacomm in the past and being treated like a foreigner that doesn't know anything about cars - I defintely won't get anything from there...so that leaves me with audiocomp - who is slow every once in a while (but a lot more pleasant to deal with then megacomm...as long as you can personally drop by audiocomp that is).

greetingz,

Have you had a look at
this thread ? If you haven't, that may answer some of your questions - if you have some questions, that that doesn't answer, come back here with them :) .

My understanding is that once you make the single DIN into a double DIN, you cannot go back, ie. you have to keep comand in or obtain a different double DIN unit.

Aux-in - not a problem. RCA out - not possible. This reason alone puts a lot of people off Comand, but is not an issue for others - me included. More bass would be nice - but coming back from the Skid pan GTG last night, we had Flash FM (from Vice City) on the iPod banging out and it sounded fantastic! (Not sure I could cope with listening to "99 luftballons" one more time though ;) ).

Cheers
Andrew

Don't tell me you use 'Sissyspritz' too  :p :D Top game GTA:VC. LOL infact I don't think I could drive whilst listening to a Vice City sound track as I would have an irresistable urge to shoot at passing motorists who got in my way

Sorry for going off topic :) Normal reading shall now resume. :p

Sorry, Steve - somehow your post slipped under my radar. Sorry again, but what is 'Sissyspritz'? . Mike's not here at the mo to ask, as he plays it more than me, although I do love it (he's completed it  ). I'm into NFS: Underground now; boy, can I drift my motor?!! I think the BMWs were broken though as they were much harder ;) .
