Welcome and what a nice pleasure to have a knowledgeable part specialist on the forum. So far I have been buying a few parts when I was abroad as it was much much cheaper but I might come back now...

Could I have a price and availability please for:

A124 440 87 10: towbar wiring kit
A000 315 11 71: towbar bolts&nuts

Thanks
you could have alook at Westfalia's wesite. OEM for most german manufacturers.

My mate got a good deal on a removeable tow bar from their agent in Northern Ireland.;)

I tried Westafalia but the tow bar for the 124 is discontinued...:(

nav - I need a vin number (p.m. it too me) theres 3 250D variants dependent on year with or without cat etc...
for an idea though?? non cat front pipe £85 cat front pipe £234.... pointless me pricing unless I've got a vin number
and the 208..
There isn't anything that pushes the boot up?? All that happens is the lock disengages its the pressure in the gas springs that open it??
the pin bush numbers don't work like that on the EPC computer system, unfotunately I can only work of MA digit numbers i.e. A2033300053..
sorry!!

I'll get the Vin and a pic of the mechanism i'm referring to.... Thanks soooo much....

Thanks

Nav

My description was a lil vague...i've jus taken it out and the heres the part number..... p/n 208 800 0775 - the pin on the pressure valve has broken...... :( :(

Would it be too much to suggest that a way of ordering parts via Jay73 could be devised - using this site - and a small sliver of a percentage retained by the site for maintenance and upkeep. In time, this could be developed into a proper online EPC / Web ordering / adviceline for people who prefer to order their own parts and do the work themselves. There might be quite alot of £££ espacially for older models. The advice bit is the key element to differentiate from other online parts ordering systems.
Just a thought.

I think that is a wonderful idea. I just wonder how it could be implimented. Mods............where are they when you need them :D

oscommerce

Just set up oscommerce site and Jay can add things things that he has in stock or 'want to get rid of'. Surely MB has clearing account with someone already.

Just to clarify on the last couple of posts, I didn't initially come to the site to sell parts, I sort of ended up here by accident and thought while I was here I may be able to offer advice.
Judging by the post count it looks like that some people may want me to supply parts not just advice..
If the mod's give the ok, I am more than happy to "open the stores" to the forum so to speak and supply genuine parts at as bigger discounts as I can get away with.

and as for:-

Fantastic many thanks..... MB don't have a clearing account, Its left to individual dealers dispose of old stock as they see fit. i.e. scrap, auction etc..
Usually once a year I have a big clear out, But weekly there is always those parts that have been either ordered in error, not required by service dept, or retail customer cancelled orders etc..

Hmmmm :D Could you order 'in error' a nice 55AMG engine and then perhaps sell it to me for its scrap value?? Please, pretty please?? :D :D

On another thread a member has stated that owners of the 211 and similar models that have the same COMAND can exchange their version 5 DVD's for the latest release 5.1 free of charge??? Could you possibly confirm, or deny that this is official Mercedes-Benz policy please?

Take care and when will it be convienant to pick up my scrap engine? ;)

Hi Jay,

I am trying to fit an AMG front bumper to my 2002 C320 Elegance. I have now got hold of most of the parts I need and want to check if there is anything else that I will need to buy before getting it all fitted and painted.

I have the following parts already:

AMG bumper

A203 885 18 25 (with headlamp wash)

AMG grilles

A203 885 18 53 Left side
A203 885 17 53 Right side
A203 885 13 53 Center

AMG Clear Fog lights

A230 820 03 56
A230 820 04 56

I need to know:

i. Is the bumper is a straight fit onto the standard bumper bar / backing plate.
ii. How do the fog lights hold in place, do they simply replace the standard fog lights, any brackets required?
iii. To fix the grilles to the bumper; I have a part no for the AMG grille clips as A002 988 5151, Is there anything else that I need?

Thanks!

p.s. I can PM you VIN numbers if required.

Hmmmm

I knew soon as I typed that someone would suggest ordering an engine LOL (wouldn't been in the job very long)

think you on about recall 4043, it would be a free upgrade but only as a "recall" on certain chassis ranges

Hello and welcome.

I would'nt mind knowing to cost and Pt Nos of the two black plastic trims either side of the rear window on an R171 SLK. And maybe how they come off and go on again.

Also, the two small rubber boot seals just below the above trims and how they come off / glue back on again.

I'm being cheeky?, I know.....:o

Portzy.

Just spoken to Jay and he sounds like a very nice guy. I have placed my order so I'll keep you posted.

A-Avantgarde

i. Is the bumper is a straight fit onto the standard bumper bar / backing plate. No AMG/avantgarde is different to classic/elegance
there's also 3 different part numbers you need to p.m. your vin and I'll try and work it all out for you later..
ii. How do the fog lights hold in place, do they simply replace the standard fog lights, any brackets required? AMG fogs are different to other models but should come complete and fix ok into an AMG bumper
iii. To fix the grilles to the bumper; I have a part no for the AMG grille clips as A002 988 5151, Is there anything else that I need? it lists them as 0029885181 on my EPC - 14 required

other than the possible bumper bar change you should be okay
