Let's see whose W202 has the highest mileage on here:

it won't be mine, it's only 65200

109k-ish (goes up by ~80 per day so..:) )

If Steve MBenzNL replies then we'll all look very silly :)

:p we can exclude MBenzNL as he's not UK based :p

1997/P C230K Sport (Auto) - Currently 89K - doesn't feel run in yet :p

This is only the second MB that I have owned with less than 100K on it! ;)

I am sure that they mature gracefully with age and mileage! :D

Was just thinking the other day, older MBs seem to age well - where as other marques (eg BMW  ) in general seem to look 'dated'. Eg, a well kept W201 or W124 looks classy and appealing, where as an E30 or even an E36 start to look second rate?!?

W202s still look excellent (I would say that though! ) and despite their 80-90s style roots, don't look second rate, just different?

Just thinking out loud!

Cheers,

Will

Bought an R plate W202 C200 Sport Auto with 77k miles on, sold with 97k miles.

(I drove those 20k - I didn't clock it...!)

No concerns, no problems.

My old M-reg one had 120,000 miles on it when I sold it 3 yrs ago and was running like a dream. The bloke who bought it rang up about a year after buying it just to tell me it was the best car he had ever owned and thanked me for looking after it, made me feel warm and fuzzy :D

73k so far;)

Mines about to hit 63k

mine only has 58600 on it bought it with 36??? eighteen months ago, love the car to bits but would really like w124 ce, no major probs with C200 could just be a little quicker.
Still MINTY !!

Was a baby when I sold it then, with 102k

102K. Had done 60K when I got it just over 3 years ago. Best car I've ever had

Im with you on that one Will. (not just cos i own a W201 with 122 odd thousand miles) Its just a fact, IMHO that beemers from the same period look so dated. Maybe its the type of owners they seem to attract when they become "cheap" enough!!!! LOL God that statement makes me seem like a right snob.. LOL... And i dont care. The older merc just seems to apeal to a better class of person, even when the car is getting on a bit. The respective prices of older bmw's verses mercs proves my case.

Sits back and waits to be shot down... LOL

It's because BMW are more highly styled and more of a fashion statement when new. Also they update the looks every year so old ones look dated sooner.

MB are more classically styled so don't date as badly. As you said MB owners generally look after them better because A; The owners are possibly a bit more steady and appreciate nice things and B; MB cars just last so well, at least mechanically.
