Hi, my comand has decided that i am parked in the english channel, and in about a week i'm driving down to southern Spain.

The car is late 2005, with the nav dvd in the boot.

Harmen Becker model number A 220 870 35 89 003

Next to the sat symbol on the screen is -

I've tried removing the fuse, and leaving it a while. No8 7.5amp antenna module, i also tried No3 7.5amp nav system.

I then removed the the Nav drive to check for moisture/corrosion as mentioned by richard, just in case the previous owner had power washed the car underneath the left rear. The drive and connections are all as brand new.

The car in past has lost signal, but always regained it, but on this occasion nothing.

After reading what i could find, it looks very likely that it is the antenna.

I have had a little look around to see what is on offer, and Hirschmann antennas
look a possibilty, and were oem for mercedes ariels in the past i believe

My question is, would this be suitable with the code C Fakra, and is the performance (spec) ok

And is just plug and play, with no effect on tel.

Thankyou chris.

Ordered from Comand on Monday, arrived this morning. Also ordered the updated nav disc as mine was version 4 which is quite lacking.

All fitted and installed, about 40mins. Sats are now (6) showing on screen, i'm still in the channel, but i'm sure that will correct when i drive.....fingers crossed.

Thankyou chris

Took car out today, position on map corrected within 50m, nav disc update appears ok, all ready for drive down to southern Spain wednesday :-)

Yup, you just have to go over about 30mph for it to update it's position

Enjoy Spain !!

Richard
