Had an interesting conversation with a Tiscali rep last night who said I could have 2mb broadband (most my line will take:mad: ) unlimited local and national calls to landlines 24/7 for £19.99 a month.

He also said their calls to mobiles were 5% cheaper than Tesco (who we are with now) and 20% cheaper to national numbers.

Good deal:confused: or are there better ones out there??

Problem is Tiscali are shite!
We have terrible net access & worse email both at home & work, fighting them & changing to Orange asap.

I know they have had bad press about set-up times but my talktalk service has settled down now. The internet access is stable and we have had no problems with the phone. In most areas you can get broadband and unlimited landline calls for £20.99 and this includes the line rental so you don;t have to pay BT.

Peter,

I agree. Talktalk were dreadful about setting me up in a timely manner but once I finally got them to do it it's OK & actually much cheaper.

I used to pay the BT landline (£11), wanadoo bb (£17.99) & tele2 for unlimited calls (£10).

The thing that pisses me me off with TT is their sales gimmick is free call to any landline in the UK and then they have 0845 numbers and shaft you for national rate calls if you ever (God forbid) need to speak to them. Tech Support is 10p per min & involves an endless wait.

no problems with Tiscali here - they seem to have really got their act together over the last couple of years. Although their tech help can sometimes leave a bit to be desired.

We've signed up for the 24/7 phone deal as well and reckon it will save us a good £100 a quarter due to the amount of daytime calls we make.

Unless it's absolutely unavoidable I won't ring anyone on an 0870 number and I'm not very happy about using 0845.

Presume you know about http://www.saynoto0870.com/search.php

Thanks Andy, the more we look at it the better the deal seems. Will let everybody know how we get on with costs etc!:)

I've signed up to Tiscali Talk for £19.99 per month too.

Been with tiscali for 2 years now for BB and they have been good. OK it costs more than TalkTalk but i dont want to go back to them, plus it means i can keep my BT line rental so i have the option to easily move elsewhere for BB and telephone calls at a later date if need be without having to go thru contacting crappy TalkTalk to end the line rental with them and go back to BT
