It turns out that to fit it, you have to cut a slit in the grill and shave about an inch off a section of the bonnet (hidden by the grill). Although daunting at first, it wasnt too hard to do but I was getting impatient waiting for the paint to dry afterwards so I could get on and finish the job.
Anyway, with this done, the star went on smoothly and I plummed it in to the central locking pump so it now goes up and down using the remote. I went down to a local Benz dealer prior to fitting it coz I needed some more of the vacuum piping and I had virtualy every member of staff come over to take a look. Only one chap had ever seen one before and he said that was around ten years ago.
