How can you tell if a graphics card is fried?

It was the graphics card that was also putting questions into my mind. He does like playing games and is getting into online gaming too so I'd need a suitable graphics card.

Gazzcaf - yes - sods law :D never mind.

Had a lonog chat with the not so wee one. He's devastated that I'm looking to buy him a new PC as he has all his games etc saved to his old one  He wants me try and get his old one fixed. Told him I wasn't willing to may for an investigation that still resulted in a new PC being bought(hard woman that I am) and he told me he'd pay for it out of his money:( . It's his autism coming out. Change of house and this as well is proving hard for him - but bless he is actually dealing with it all incredibly well. Thought he'd jump at a new PC - should have known better:rolleyes:

However - darling daughter will love one I'm sure. And she doesn;t do gaming etc so it would prob do nicely for her.

Thanks for the input as ever guys.;)

If it will help I'm happy to transfer as many of the saved games over as I can. Been a while since I have played games (well, those sort anyway  ) but pretty sure I should be able to help
