How do guys on here get their engine looking so clean?

Hi guys, I have tried lots of products to clean the baked on oily greasy muck in the engine bay of my '95 c class but to no avail, how do people here do it?, also I have seen that some people have painted one of the top covers red, what products are used for this. Thanks in advance.

Here is a picture of my engine bay............I use a combination of products including baby oil and moisurising cream to keep it looking like this.

Ok, ok I bought it like this and I havn't got a clue how the previous owner kept it so clean, there is no evidence of steam cleaning so I can only assume he didn't go out in the rain!

I use a cheap aerosol can of degreaser on warm engine and a garden hose to wash it off.
Been doing same for years.

Will let you know when I have done the 190/380 Conversion. Not looking forward to that..........Ray, get your gloves out, time to clean
