How much is my car worth??

(Apologies for anyone that has seen this on another forum!! )

I have a C 270cdi Auto estate AvanteGarde SE, is a 54 plate (2004 facelift version) has a lot of extras;

heated seats
full leather
comand
telephone cradle
MP3 adaptation
folding mirrors

it's done around 125,000 miles

The body work isn't perfect (a few subtle car parks dents, and one near the rear bumper that was a bit worse and has been touched up). It is in perlite grey colour which is a kind of bluey grey.

How much roughly do you think it's worth selling privately?? I fancy getting one of the new B classes which I have read is a LOT better than the old style one!

You can look to see what other similar cars are up for - or even sold prices on eBay to get a rough idea...

Best bet is look on Autotrader and Ebay / piston heads see what similar cars are going for.

Then if your going to test drive the new B ask for a p/x price but hold your breath...when they tell you

I have looked around and because it's Auto, fully loaded and an estate, it looks like they get around £5000(ish) even with the high mileage.
The "dents" aren't dents in the sense that they are huge or anything, merely pits more so where some inconsiderate b'stard has parked too close and then opened their door on my door or whatever.

It's actually a really decent car, has been reliable and looks really good too.

It's sensible to find out to ensure you aren't being ripped off should you look at trading it although I would say be realistic and keep an open mind on price!

You should get £3k as a part ex depending on the 'dints'.

Private sale prices can be quite subjective but around the £4,500-5000 should sell it.

Bear in mind though that if you do sell it privately, you have to put up with tyre kickers, time wasters and ensuring a secure transaction...

I guess only you can decide what price that is worth.

I declined the trade in on my previous car against the current one - came out with £500 extra in the end.

Was it worth the hassle of advertising it etc.? Not really.
